Following on from what has proved to be his very popular account of the industrial railways around Penistone, Adrian Booth has revisited the Special Edition No.106 of the Industrial Railway Record covering the railways serving Sheffield’s sewage works and published in September 1986, when Blackburn Meadows works still had an internal railway system operating 7 days a week. The story has now been brought up to date in this greatly expanded version (more than doubled in size) which includes the final years of the Blackburn Meadows system and also the monorail system at Wharncliffe Side works as well as a number of additional photographs (some, unlike the IRR version, in colour) and maps.
