It is now more than fifty years since Handbook N, covering all the industrial locomotives of Scotland, was published. This new book is the first of a series in the much more detailed  “Second Edition” format, covering each area of Scotland in much greater detail. This volume deals primarily with the major coal mining areas in Fife and Clackmannan. As with all Second Edition format volumes in its 448 pages it provides considerable background information on the sites, well illustrated and with maps.
